Mark and Cheryl have many friends at the Manhattan Beach Community Church, starting with the Senior Choir and expanding from there; Lura is starting to make quite a few there too. Here she is with some of her special friends: Aya, whom she met last year on Fathers' Day, and Fiona, daughter of our "show folk" friends Roy & Colleen.
Lura and Cheryl spent a particularly large amount of time at the church in the middle of May, since Cheryl is on the Music Board and helped prepare the Community Hall for the Senior Choir's concert before its tour of Spain and France. Ivy's mother Erica is also on the Music Board; here are Ivy and Lura watching their mommies hard at work.
Here they are having a great time with the black lace that was a big part of the decorating scheme!
Afterward they played (at emptying the diaper bag) in the spacious back of our new minivan.
They also found time to perform a piano duet.
The concert was on May 20th and 21st; on the morning of "opening day," Gracie's mother Carolina came by to help tend the girls so Cheryl and Erica and others could put up the finishing touches. Gracie shares nicely, doesn't she?
Here Carolina has a triple armful of little readers!
They also found a tricycle in front of the Community Hall, and Lura did her best to figure out the pedals.
Ultimately she decided it was safest to keep her feet up, as she does when Ivy pushes her on her little car! We're lucky to have our church "family" (when Mark first introduced Cheryl to the choir, he warned her that it would be like meeting a roomful of his aunts and uncles, all of whom wanted to see him married off!), and now so is Lura.
