On Friday, March 25th, Cheryl and Lura's Mommy & Me group got together at a local park for some Easter photos of the kids. Here's Lura in her new dress and shoes.
Here are a couple of photos from that "shoot," sent to us by Kathy and Bill.
That evening we went out to dinner at the Rocky Cola Cafe, and Lura got to try her first Oreo cookie. She didn't know quite what to make of it...
The next day the young adults group at our church had a kids' Easter party! We got there a little late for the Easter egg hunt, but Lura enjoyed some crafts, and got to meet the Easter Bunny. She seems to be more interested in the bunny stamp that was placed on her hand at the entrance, though!
Afterward we headed to Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach to join the Doughtys' extended family for a picnic. Here Lura is getting her running shoes on so she can go chase the seagulls...
...or the bubbles! She and Gracie were fascinated by the bubbles blown by Gracie's father Scott.
The next day was Easter! The Senior Choir sang both services, and as always there was a potluck in between; we also sat at the Hospitality Table during the coffee hour after the first service, so we wore our Hawaiian clothes--nowhere is more hospitable than Hawaii! Lura has on her new Easter dress, with tulle "petals" around the waist.
Here she is with Gracie, who's also dressed up for the holiday.
Our friends Brian and Andrea had sent movers to bring them the piano that they had lent us for the last few years while they were moving around the world for her job. Lura remembers it, though, and she wanted to play the piano in the choir room. As at home, rather than banging on the keyboard as you might expect from a toddler, she played notes one or two at a time, often to a steady rhythm. We think she'll feel at home joining the music program at the church when she's old enough in a couple of years!
